DIY Mosquito Net Curtain Rod Frame Instructions

Create your own frame with curtain rod. DIY curtain rod frames that are hidden in a sleeve on the ceiling of all our Deluxe Box Nets and Canopies.

Here’s some simple instructions

Insert 4 hooks in the ceiling above the four corners of your bed
Attach cord or line to ceiling hooks allowing ample length for ease of raising the canopy (we suggest from ceiling hook to just above the bed). Using a heavy duty or large gauge fishing line will facilitate installation.

Lay out the ceiling of your Mosquito Net Bed Canopy on the bed ensuring it is correctly aligned.

There are several options for making your own frame out of curtain rod or PVC conduit, remember you will need 4 corner pieces. These items are available at curtain or electrical hardware outlets.

Fixed length rod must be cut to the size of mosquito net bed canopy and recommended dimensions are listed on our website under FAQ’s.
Slide rods into the sleeves on the ceiling of the canopy. Insert elbows in to ends of rods.
Repeat these steps with the remaining corners. On the final corner there will be tension as the ceiling of the canopy is stretched taut.

Tie cord or line hanging from the ceiling to the plastic elbows, be aware that it will be necessary to loosen these knots again as the canopy is raised.
Raise the canopy, corner by corner, tying and untying the cord until the correct height is reached. This may take several circuits of the canopy and a ladder may be required.

Loop the long external corner tie of the canopy up and around the ceiling cord then down the corner of the netting to conceal the plastic elbow.

Once desired height is reached tie firmly. The correct height is a personal choice as some people will want the canopy to touch the floor (especially for insect protection) while others will prefer a canopy that is higher.
If you wish remove pairs of fabric ties with scissors or fold onto ceiling or tie into a decorative bow.
